At work and at home sustainability matters to us. Now that more of us are working from home, it’s a perfect time for companies and employees to act together to reduce carbon emissions. With Green the Team your employer pays half the cost for you to source the equivalent of your home electricity usage from renewables.
What does Green the Team involve?
When you take part in Green the Team, your electricity does not come directly from a renewable source to your property. Rather, each estimated unit of electricity you consume as nominated by you is matched using renewable energy certificates to an equivalent amount of renewable energy which is delivered to the electricity grid. That means with Green the Team there is no need to change your electricity retailer. The renewable energy certificates are sourced and surrendered by Iberdrola Australia from large scale Australian renewable projects.

Voluntary programs like Green the Team provide additional demand for renewable energy over and above what is required by governments. As more renewable energy is generated it displaces generation from fossil fuels and lowers emissions.
Only ~$62.50 per annum for the average home
Green the Team only costs employees around $62.50 per annum for an average sized home2 after a 50% contribution from your employer.

1. Register
Follow the link that was emailed to you. Enter your name and verify your email address.
2. Nominate
Nominate the amount of electricity you would like to offset for the year ahead. There is a handy calculator to help you estimate how much electricity you would typically use.
3. Done
The cost will be automatically deducted from your salary. The rest of the process will be handled by your employer and Iberdrola Australia.
